fix your business’s back end in three simple steps

The good news is that if your business’s back end isn’t working the way you want it to, there’s always room for you to fix it!

But before we get into it, here are four ways to identify if your back end needs some TLC!

4 signs your back end is broken

Missed deadlines

If you’re constantly apologising for missed deadlines, your process is broken. You’re not stuck on a wheel of bad luck; you have poor planning and inefficient workflows.

Client complaints

When clients are more vocal about what’s wrong than what’s right, it’s a red flag. High complaints volumes indicate that your processes aren’t meeting expectations.

repetitive manual tasks

If your team spends more time on manual tasks than on growth activities, it’s time to automate. Tedious tasks should be streamlined, not eating up valuable time.

low team morale

If your team is frustrated, overworked, and burned out, it’s not on them — it’s your processes.

now that we have that out of the way. . .

It's time to take the next steps to fix it. 👇️

  1. Make a list of all the issues you're having within your backend and discuss them with your team. For example, ask why deadlines are being missed. Is it that our client work and delivery timelines are too short? Are we receiving information from clients too late?

  2. Get really specific with what areas can be improved in your processes and systems to avoid these mistakes. This could look like allowing more time for your team to gather necessary materials from clients and work on tasks.

  3. Implement these changes and update your SOPs.

Try using these updated systems and processes for a month to see if there is improvement in those problematic areas, and adjust if necessary. It's definitely a learning curve, but once you get into a good groove, everything changes. ✨️

P.S. We have some SOP templates coming SO SOON to help make running and organising your business much easier!
