Defining the Narrative You Want to Live By

As entrepreneurs, we can get so caught up in the day-to-day hustle and desire for success that we forget why we started our business in the first place - to live the life we truly desire. Read on to learn why defining the narrative for your life and building a business that fits that vision is truly the key to success.

What Narrative Are You Living By?

As an entrepreneur, it’s important to define which narrative you’re living by. Are you living by the narrative of the life you want to be living, or the narrative of what you deem as business success?

You have to figure out how you want to live, and fit your business into that narrative, not the other way around.

Here’s the truth… if you are not enjoying the journey to becoming a 7-figure business (or whatever your goal is), you are not actually being successful.

Whoa… that’s a truth bomb. Hear me out, though.

We need to redefine what success means to us.

Does it mean achieving these huge goals and doing it at the expense of our mental and physical health? No. That is NOT the vibe. Success should mean feeling good about the journey you're on and enjoying each step of the way.

Success should mean:

  • Feeling good about the day-to-day.

  • Feeling good about the small wins rather than just living for the day you hit that 7-figure mark.

  • Feeling good about your morning routine.

  • Feeling good about living your fucking life!

Real Success Is Loving How You’re Living

We have to love how we're living in order to create our success, or else, we will never feel truly accomplished. Instead of just focusing on that one overall goal, we have to let our business fit into our lifestyles.

You are more than just an entrepreneur, and your life shouldn't be consumed with it.

As an entrepreneur that’s been in business for over 6 years, who’s struggled with burnout and constantly trying to do more just to reach that so-called business success, that is the most important advice I can give you.

Set goals surrounding the things, people, and hobbies you love, and then, set aside designated time for them.

Go out with your friends, spend time with your family, strive to meet goals that have nothing to do with your business.

This is the key to real success.

Success isn't success unless you like what you're doing and how you're doing it.
