Non-Negotiables in Business for 2024 (and Beyond!)
Happy New Year! We are ringing in 2024 in style with better systems and processes, amazing clients (plus some new ones we’re thrilled to serve), a kickass team of dedicated women, a “full-ass it” attitude, AND a couple of non-negotiables in business for the year ahead (and beyond!). Read on to learn what these are and why they should 100% be non-negotiables for you, too!
A New Year Reminder About Hustle Culture
I see it time and again. Entrepreneurs have this relentless pull to work harder, work MORE, and work even longer than you worked yesterday (if that’s actually possible).
We sacrifice our minds, our health, our happiness, and our lives in pursuit of this big idea that the hustle should hurt… that we must do more, more, more in order to be deemed worthy of success.
It’s this bullshit idea that if it doesn't hurt, then you're not working hard enough.
Let me tell you, I’ve made it hurt. I’ve pumped out work for hours on end for my clients, my own business, and all in the name of the "success" I was chasing.
I thought that working hard was this badge of honour, and I carried it and wore it proudly (with dark circles under my eyes and mini ugly cry sessions daily).
As entrepreneurs, the majority of the stress we experience is self-imposed. We focus on unrealistic standards that we THINK we should be reaching. We get caught up in the comparison game that we have to be as good, or better, than our competitors.
But that’s simply NOT true.
Two Non-Negotiables In Business
The next time you are burning yourself out and the hustle is hurting, I want you to pause and take a look at the story you’re telling yourself that keeps you showing up in this way.
I can almost guarantee you that when you stop that loud train of hustle dead in its tracks, you can quickly pinpoint what you are trying to prove. Most likely, you will find out that you are only trying to prove it to yourself.
So as you move forward in your business in 2024 (and beyond!), I want you to remember these two non-negotiables: your prices and your well-being.
Neither one of these should EVER have to be justified, explained, or guilt-ridden.
You are worthy of your prices and living a life that lights you the fuck up - don’t forget that!
Are you ready to get these non-negotiables in place (and stick to them with confidence?!).
